A good oral-care routine can be simple. Start with a few familiar steps, give them a comfortable place in your day, and keep the essentials close at hand.
Begin with the basics
Brush twice a day for two minutes with fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled brush. Use gentle movements and give the outer, inner and chewing surfaces attention. A manual or powered brush can work well; choose one you find comfortable.
Make room for the spaces in between
Cleaning between teeth deserves its own moment, ideally once a day. Floss, a floss holder, an interdental brush or a water flosser can be part of that step. A dental professional can help you find a tool that suits your teeth.
Make the routine feel like yours
Choose a familiar cue: getting ready in the morning or winding down before bed. Put the tools you use within easy reach and give yourself enough time to finish without rushing. If a two-minute timer helps, use one.
Brush morning and evening. Make time for between-teeth care. Keep the setup easy to return to.
